Sales Engineer - Metal Fabrication/Contract Manufacturing

Sales - Technical Engineered Products

Responsible for the profitable sales growth of the corporation by developing new customer sales within assigned prospects and market segments and managing assigned customer relationships. Send resume to Searchtec at Gmail dot com.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibility for developing new business with existing customers and new customers for the California Division, including:
1. Identifying and penetrating customers within the assigned prospects and market segments.
2. Managing the quotation process by qualifying new opportunities and prospects, providing the division with specific opportunity details to enable them to prioritize the quotation, developing and managing the sales strategy for each opportunity, and presenting proposals to customers and prospects, timely follow up on proposals, and closing of sales.
3. Participating in the new business award process " including contract negotiation.

Overall responsibility for maintaining relationships with the assigned existing customers, including:
1. Being the primary customer contact for commercial issues (including quoting, pricing, and other issues that affect the commercial relationship).
2. Actively helping resolve technical issues (including quality problems and engineering issues.)
3. Regular customer visitation and development of relationships through many levels of the customer organization.
4. Providing written updates to the division regarding open issues and visitation reports.
5. Working with the division to develop strategies for customer management.

Regular travel to existing customers and prospects is required.
Provide sales forecast and marketing development information for division business planning and long term strategic planning activities.
Support multi-divisional corporate sales objectives.
Ensure documentation and records are maintained in adherence to ISO/QS/Standards.
Work in an organized manner with attention to details.
Attend training activities as required.
Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree - Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
3 years minimum experience selling an engineered product; metal stamping or metal forming sales experience preferred.
Engineering or technical background is preferred.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with customers and coworkers.
Exhibit superior oral and written communications skills in order to present proposals to customers and peers.
Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to changing business needs and priorities.
Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to deal with contracts and complex problems that are sensitive and confidential.
Ability to read blueprints with understanding of geometrical tolerance.
Knowledge of QS-9000, ISO 9002, and TS16949 quality systems.
Knowledge of (Microsoft) Word, Excel, and Outlook.
