Lab Manager/Quality -Food & Beverage Industry
Our client located near Ontario,California is in need for a leader to manage the analytical lab associated with food and beverage manufacturing company
Under the direction of the Operation Vice President this position leads the production quality control functions, ensures production quality, and provides government record keeping and administrative production paperwork accuracy. This position is generally 4 days a week with 10 hour days requiring occasional overtime and schedule flexibility for varying shifts.Send resume to Searchtec at Gmail dot com .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise quality control and laboratory technicians engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity. Send Resume to Searchtec at Gmail dot com.

2. Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establishquality and reliability expectancy of finished products.

3. Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures for raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods.

4. Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased raw materials and packaging components.

5. Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel and provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.

6. Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.

7. Coordinate objectives with production manager to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

8. Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for products throughout production.

9. Apply total quality management tools and statistical approaches to analytical and reporting processes.

10. Work with third party laboratories for additional testing on raw ingredients and finished products as required.

11. Create and direct organoleptic, analytical, cleaning & sanitation, and environmental test functions and applications.

12. Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.

13. Maintains and monitors the quality assurance system throughout the day by reviewing quality control documentation.

14. Initiates root cause analysis and completion of corrective action and preventative action reports.

15. Provides support for government record keeping by reviewing paperwork on 122, 131, BWC, TPWBH, bulk flavor, condiments receivables to ensure compliance for Company reporting efforts.

16. Provides laboratory support by overseeing application, organoleptic and analytical testing on raw ingredients and finished product.

17. Provides administrative support by completing forms to receive flavors/condiments and process to government records; and keeping product retains and files in order, i.e. daily run sheets, production work orders, receivables, transfers and bulk loads.

18. Conduct benchtop testing for current and new products as needed to ensure stability, integrity and product/package quality.

19. At times, work with Product Development and Flavor/Bulk Suppliers in the development of new and current products.

20. Trained in HazMat safety, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP.

21. Provides support for monthly and year-end Inventories.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in food science chemistry or related science background.
- Additional training in Food and beverage regulations and relevant experiences
