Quality Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure quality production of products or delivery of services consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors or staff. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Although it is not possible to provide an exhaustive list of all types of duties, responsibilities and performance standards, the following are the essential job functions: 1. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals. Develop Quality Control Plan 2. Communicates quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization. 3. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes. Ensure vendor service or product offerings are in alignment with quality control initiatives. 6. Reviews all data obtained during all quality control activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. 7. Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality control activities and actions being taken to improve any deficiencies. 9. Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality control activities. 11. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality control codes and standards. 12. Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization. 13. Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers. 14. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding the quality of products and services. 15. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive company morale, employee productivity and continued growth. 16. Communicates clearly and directly with employees concerning performance expectations, productivity and accountability. 17. Confers with Director of Engineering and Technical Support and other management staff to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions. 18. Prepares Job Descriptions, business plans and Professional Development Plans as needed to ensure that the appropriate and necessary staff are recruited, selected and developed according to the needs of the organization. 19. Completes performance reviews, annual performance reviews and performance improvement plan reviews for all direct reports or designated personnel. 20. Effectively lead, coach and mentor the supervisory personnel responsible for the day to day management of all engineering and technical support personnel. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Four year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. ?Mathematical Skills Perform basic math, algebraic computations, statistics, regression analysis, and statistical process control methodologies. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. ?Computer Skills Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. ?Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Six Sigma, Manager of Quality, Quality Process Analyst, Quality Auditor, or similar certifications desirable. Knowledge of ISO or Six Sigma principles desirable. ?Other Qualifications Knowledge of the Telephony industry required.
