PUBLIC WORKS TECHNICIAN ? City of Arcadia, CA ? (Salary $3,431 -$4,284/mo, City-paid PERS, 595/mo medical benefit allowance). Under general direction, performs a variety of highly responsible complex administrative, technical, and secretarial functions for the Public Works Services Director and management staff; provides administrative assistance in assembling, compiling, and summarizing information for departmental reports and projects; issues permits; and processes professional service agreements, maintenance contracts, and capital improvement projects for the department. The ideal candidate should have at least four years of public works office experience or increasingly responsible administrative secretarial, administrative assistant, office management, or related experience; education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training and course work in accounting, management, business administration, office practices or a related field; and ability to type 60 words per minute net.
