Manager, Business Development
Applied Water Management (AWM), a member of American Water Enterprises Group, a unit of American Water, is a full-service, water resource company with offices in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Our service area focuses on the Northeast but includes the 27 States currently being serviced by our sister companies in American Water. Position Overview AWM is currently seeking a Manager, Business Development to focus on the business development activities in the New England area. Based in Fall River, MA and reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, the incumbent will be responsible for driving the business development initiative in the New England Region. Will be responsible for driving the growth in this region by identifying new opportunities, initiating and generating sales leads, closing deals ranging from proposals to design and build new facilities to operations and maintenance contracts for existing treatment facilities, responding to RFPs and all potential leads, and developing and expanding new and existing business relationships. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include finding and developing leads and prospects; conducting pre-proposal client visitations; conducting Go/No Go decisions; developing capture plans; executing an effective proposal process enhancing the opportunities for successful project awards; serving as an articulate spokesperson to represent the Company in the water and wastewater marketplace; maintaining awareness of other service providers in the market sector, both from a competitive and strategic alliance perspective, and maintaining the pursuit database for AWM prospects. Qualifications -4+ years hands-on, industry or job-related sales and marketing experience -Self-starter with strong initiative and integrity, together with the essential ability to gain the cooperation and confidence of others. -Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple priorities -Work well independently as well as within a small team -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -PC literate -Technical background, preferably a degree in environmental engineering or a related field. An advantage would be a strong technical background in water and wastewater systems. Compensation and Benefits Salary is commensurate with experience and market competitiveness.
