Global Director of Engineering and Innovation, Foodservice Division
Physical & Mental Demands: Possess creative ability. Need to meet time constraints and pressures creating potentially stressful situations. Be able to work with many different people on many different projects simultaneously. Stress of communicating with industry, state, federal officials and public media and at times in an open and public forum. Stress of handling multiple tasks requiring critical time restraints. Occasional exposure to certain chemicals, carbon fines, and resins. General Duties: 1. Coordinate engineering activities based on sales requirements and manufacturing's market demands. Coordinate research activities to develop new technologies. 2. Manage engineering and engineering services across multiple sites and regions, including managing projects through the CDR (in India). 3. Supervise and assist in designing filters, pumps, valves, and related parts for foodservice systems and utility products according to design control procedures. Redesign and improve products as requested by customers and sales and marketing staff members. 4. Travel to various customers and channel partners in developing new engineering concepts and products to gather the voice of the customer in product design. 5. Work with sales, marketing, and manufacturing in developing ideas for new products and innovations and their design and implementation, including CAD models and drawings, costing, and testing of products. Establish material and product standards, Bills of Materials, and quality plans (CTQ scorecards). 6. Represent the Company and division in engineering, testing, and government organizations specifically, and in the community in general. 7. Travel by auto or air to represent the Company in liability claims, functions of trade associations, and at regulatory agencies. 8. Evaluate competitor's products. 9. Assist the Purchasing Department with vendor, material selection and cost reductions. Work with Production Department in trouble shooting and problem solving. 10. Work with patent attorneys to secure intellectual property rights and maintain intellectual property files. 11. Perform other miscellaneous duties and work on long term projects as may be assigned by the Vice President of Water Technology or Sr. VP/General Manager 12.
