Engineered Products Support Engineer
General Summary: Fulfill the primary engineering technical support to Regional Centers for all engineered products and their applications. (Engineered Products = Non-standards or Factory Product Variants, FPV) Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provide technical support to the Regional Centers for all engineered products and their applications. 2. Provide engineering review for nonstandard product requests to ensure viability and producability of the requested products. 3. Responsible for engineered product creation, revision, and processing; including part number and bill of material, test and nameplate data, and interdepartmental coordination. 4. Coordinates support for special product applications and customer needs with Product Management and the Engineering staff. 5. Provides interdepartmental technical assistance and training. 6. Supports Product and Design Engineers on special projects. 7. Responsible for coordinating specification of nonstandard motors with outside vendors. 8. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Working knowledge of centrifugal pumps and knowledge of Grundfos product line preferred. 2. Computer skills on SAP, including product structures, Product Configuration System, or similar background. 3. Ability to understand mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. 4. Exhibit consistent technical accuracy and have proven analytical ability. 5. Strong communication skills a must to interact both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical people. 6 Must utilize efficient and professional e-mail and telephone communication skills. 7. Good understanding of customer base and pumping system troubleshooting experience. 8. Understanding of motor design, application and operation. Education and Experience: BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. BS degree in Industrial Technology considered. Two to five years of pump and/or motor experience preferred. Field applications experience with pumps or motors a plus. Also,experience with water treatment, dosing and disinfection applications. Comments: Must develop professional work habits, with the ability to work independently. Minimal travel required; must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
